To My Dear Brother, Thomas...
My thoughts have been filled with you throughout this month...your birthday, your wedding, and today, that terrible day that we lost you...four years ago. It is still unbelievable to me. I find it extraordinarily difficult, even now, and I don't really think there are words to express the overwhelming emotion and sadness I continue to feel on this day and many other times throughout your month of March.
I know you are with me always...in those unexpected moments of sadness that wash over me...but more importantly, you are there in the beautiful moments of life too. I so clearly remember your smile, the sound of your voice, the many different things we talked about, both ordinary and special, and I am so thankful for that. I do cherish the many happy memories and, when wonderful things happen in my life or with Tom or with Mom and Dad, I know you are still there and happy for all of us. You are remembered by all of us in so many special ways.
Thomas, you are always in my prayers, and I know deep inside myself that you are happy and fulfilled and joyful in ways that none of us here can yet fully understand. I still say that we will have so much to talk about when I do see you again....I do look forward to that.
Thank you for being the special person you are. I will promise to try to spend the rest of today focusing on the good times we spent together and remembering you with joy.
With Love Always,
Your sister, Karen
