Best Friends

To my brother, Thomas... You were my first best friend, and we stayed best friends throughout our lives. We shared everything in life...our hopes and dreams, all the happiness and high points of our lives as well as the disappointments, trying times, and sad experiences we each went through over these many years. There wasn't anything we couldn't say to each other or talk about, even when we disagreed. We knew each other as complete people and loved each other no matter what. I have so many truly happy memories of our time together as brother and sister, playing together as kids, wonderful vacations with Mom and Dad at the Jersey shore, summer days together at Arcola pool, Sorrento's birthday cakes, trick-or-treating together every Halloween, milk shakes, catching fireflies in the backyard, family barbeques, eating outside, and meals together with Mom & Dad and with Tom after I got married, the many different things we did together and fun times we had when you came to Florida to spend time with Tom and me, our long walks on the Florida beaches, our long talks at night during your visits before we each went to sleep. There was always so much to say and never enough time to say it all. I thought as we grew old we would be there for each other, as we always were to this point in our lives. Tommy, I feel an overwhelming sense of loss, and my heart continues to feel that it is breaking. Yet, at the same time, I feel our hearts and souls are still very much connected and will remain that way forever. You were taken from Mom & Dad, Tom & me much much too soon. There is tremendous sadness, but no regrets at all, other than we all will miss you terribly and wish that this tragedy did not have to happen at all. No one else can fill the special spot you had in each of our hearts. But, I know I will see you again. You will remain ever present and with me every day in my heart until we meet again. I will have a lot to tell you when I see you again. All My Love, Forever. I will always be your loving sister, Karen
