Sophie Bielewicz, a longtime resident of Garfield, entered eternal life, June 24th, she was 96. Sophie was born in Bereza Kartuska, Poland on Nov 1st, 1920 to Helena and Franciszek Olichwer. She was married to Antoni Bielewicz on Oct 22nd, 1941 in Poland. Sophie emigrated to the USA in 1965, first living in Fair Lawn, then Garfield. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church and had also been a member of the Rosary and Choir. Sophie enjoyed spending time with her family; especially when it came time to be with her cherished 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed her time on the beach in Wildwood Crest. Sophie is survived by her devoted children, Stan Bielewicz, Halina (Casey) Grochola, Elenora (Zygmunt) Chojnacki, and Maria (John) MacLaren. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Antoni in 2006 and her dear daughter-in-law Honorata in 2015. Visiting today, Tues, June 27th, 4-8 pm, Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Ave, Wallington. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10am, Wed, June 28th, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Ray St. Garfield.
