William J. Zoon, Sr. of Wallington, on Jan 17th, he was 87. William was born in Passaic on Dec 15th, 1928, to Jacob and Mary (Gibney) Zoon. William was married to Elaine Van Howling, August 26th, 1952 and enjoyed 63 years of marriage. He worked as a draftsman in the aeronautical industry during his professional career working for Bendix and Curtiss Wright. He was an Exempt member of the Wallington Truck Company No. 1. He was an enthusiastic and avid promoter of children's sports, and had coached Babe Ruth Baseball. He was also a 55 year member of the Garfield Masonic Temple. William was a proud and dedicated parishioner of the Wallington Presbyterian Church, where he served on many of the different boards, and performed many repairs at the Church. He and his wife Elaine had also been active members of the Wallington Seniors and the AARP Chapter 4115.
William is survived by his beloved wife Elaine; beloved father of Susan Devlin and her husband Robert, his son William J. Zoon, Jr and his wife Cynthia. William is also survived by his devoted grandchildren, Kristen, Holli, Veronica and Shawn Wieland, and his two great granddaughters Fiona and Ruby. Visiting 2-4 and 7-9 pm, Thurs, Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Ave. Wallington, NJ. A Funeral will be celebrated 10:30 am, Fri, at the Wallington Presbyterian Church. 9 Bond St, Wallington. Interment will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa.
