With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Zofia M. "Sophie" Hicks who passed away peacefully on April 5, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was 61. Sophie was born on October 2, 1962, in Rzeszow, Poland, to Tadeusz and Zofia (Gusciora) Kania. Sophie was a resilient and dedicated soul, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, love, and commitment. Sophie's passion for excellence in the field of Information Technology shone through in her role as a Software Engineer at AEP Industries. Her industrious nature and unwavering dedication to her work were truly admirable, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of working alongside her. Sophie's constant pursuit of perfection extended beyond her professional life; she cherished family gatherings, the joy of live concerts and dancing, and took great satisfaction in celebrating the achievements of those she held dear. She volunteered her time as a Girl Scout Leader for twelve years, always ensuring the town got their cookies. Zofia M. "Sophie" Hicks is survived by her beloved husband of 33 years, Robert, her loving daughters, Danielle and her husband Kevin Cordova, and Lauren Hicks, her cherished grandson Jackson Cordova, her dear sister Regina Mazurkiewicz, her devoted brothers Jerzy and Bogusław, and adoring nieces and nephews.
