Vir Garnet of Garfield, NJ died from injuries sustained in an accident on March 17th, 2013 in Kansas City, MO, he was 26. Vir was born to Virgilio and Floravic (Samson) Tiu in Cebu, the Philippines on May 2, 1986 and came to the United States with his family in 1992. Vir attended school in Garfield graduating from the High School Class of 2004. For the past three years he has worked for Sky West Airlines as a Flight Attendant, a career he truly enjoyed, and was good at. Previously he had worked at Lord & Taylor in the Willowbrook Mall and Cole Haan’s at the Riverside Mall, where he had been “Employee of the Year.” Vir was a talented singer and dancer and won competitions. He had many interests and hobbies but his most notable were, slack lining, bicycling, b-ball, cheerleading, swimming, fishing, canyoneering and camping. Vir is survived by his loving mother Floravic and father Virgilio, his devoted brothers, Iben and wife Maida of Garfield, NJ and Jasper of CA. Visiting, Sat March 30th 2-4 and 7-9pm and Easter Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9pm. A funeral mass will be held 10AM, Mon, April 1st at Church of the Most Holy Name, 99 Marsellus Place, Garfield, NJ.
