Sarah Abrahantes of Wallington, entered eternal life on October 23rd, 2016, surrounded by her loving family, Sarah was 83. Sarah was born in Manhattan, New York on January 16th, 1933 to Charles and Lena (Pollack) Candles. She was raised on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, and was married to Pedro Abrahantes on February 17th, 1950. Sarah has lived in Wallington for the past two years and prior to that had lived in South Hackensack. Sarah enjoyed singing, swimming, sewing, knitting, crocheting, reading and cooking, and her family considered her a "Professional Cleaner" at home. When her children were young, she always dressed them in "Tailored Made Clothes by Sarah." Often when children were playing in the neighborhood, Sarah's girls were always the best dressed. Sarah was a firm believer and promoted that all should live by the "Golden Rule." Sarah is survived by her beloved husband Pedro Abrahantes, her devoted daughters Joyce Abrahantes and Evelyn Acevedo. She is also survived by her cherished grandsons, Elliot Acevedo and Raymond Almestica. Sarah was predeceased by her two sisters and her five brothers. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 26th, 2-4 & 7-9 pm, Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Ave, Wallington, New Jersey, 07057. A graveside funeral service will be held at the East Ridgelawn Cemetery, 255 Main Avenue, Clifton, 11:30 am, Thursday, October 27th. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 10am for a brief chapel service before proceeding to the cemetery.
