Rosalie D'Andrea (nee Guttadora) of Nutley, NJ entered eternal life on January 1st, 2020; she was 85. Rosalie was born on February 21st, 1935 in Newark, NJ to Joseph and Antoinette (Ventre) Guttadora. She attended Garfield Elementary and Arts High School, in Newark. On April 12th, 1964 Rosalie married her beloved husband, David D'Andrea, at The Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Newark. They were married for 33 years at the time of his death in 1997. Rosalie worked in the Children's Department of the Newark Public Library and the Newark Youth Center and Perpetual Help Nursery School, where among her many responsibilities, her favorite by far was storytelling. Using her acquired business skills, she and her husband David founded D & R Auto Parts. After her formal retirement, she worked as a bookkeeper for Combined Kitchen Co. in Newark and later as a secretary for various Guardian Insurance agencies. In addition to being a businesswoman Rosalie was a Girl Scout leader and director for Mothers’ of Priests’. She was diligent in keeping in touch with family and friends as well as assisting anyone in need. One of her special talents was her love of cooking, and the enjoyment of sharing those culinary skills with others. Rosalie traveled throughout the United States and Europe and looked forward to her annual trips to Portland, Oregon, where she spent time visiting her niece Lisa and her family. Rosalie is survived by her cherished son Rev. Steven D'Andrea, brother Anthony Guttadora and his wife Lois, sister-in-law Gladys D'Andrea, nephew John Lazar and his wife Linda, nieces Lisa Sloan and Christine Guttadora. In addition, Rosalie is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Rosalie was predeceased by her husband David, and her brother-in-law Cosmo D’Andrea, Jr. Visiting, 2-4pm, and 6-8 pm, Monday, January 11th and 2-4, Tuesday, January 12th Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Avenue, Wallington, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 7pm, Tuesday evening January 12, at The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 127 Paterson Ave, Wallington, NJ. Rosalie will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery, privately.
