Richard (Rick) J. German, a lifelong resident of East Rutherford, entered eternal life, Thursday, February 28th, he was 79. Richard was born in Passaic, NJ on June 25th, 1944 to Michael Sr. and Mary (Matash) German. Rick was a graduate of Pope Pius High School in Passaic, and then attended Seton Hall, where he earned is Baccalaureate in Religion, and a proud Air Force Veteran who served from 1970 -1973. He married his beloved wife of fifty three years, MaryElizabeth Stapleton on December 11th, 1971, at St. Nicholas Church in Passaic. Rick had worked for the Newark Archdiocese as a medical purchasing agent. Rick had bowled for the Knights of Columbus, enjoyed playing racquetball, trapshooting and skiing. In more recent years, Rick could often be found assembling his Lego masterpieces. Rick is survived by his beloved wife Betty, his devoted son Richard German, his dear brother Fr. Michael German, his sisters Ruth Cressen and Carol Nadler. Auntie Mary Ann, Uncle Frank Duke and family. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter in law, Dr. Christine M. German, August 3, 2021.
