Peter Popowich

Peter D. Popowich of Garfield, died on Dec 24th, 2014, he was 93. Peter was born in Passaic, NJ on Nov 8, 1921 to Michael and Eva (Semestrovska) Popowich. Peter was married to Margaret (Chabora), who predeceased him in 2005. He was the owner of Pappy Sheet Metal in Garfield, a business he owned for over thirty years, retiring in the late 1980's. Peter was a parishioner and usher at St. Peter's & Paul's Russian Orthodox Cathedral for many years. He is survived by his beloved daughter Alette and son in law Carmen Blasi of Fairfield, NJ, and his dear sister Barbara Leshchyshyn. Peter was predeceased by 4 sisters and 3 brothers. Visiting Friday 4-8 pm, a vigil service at 7:30 pm, Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Ave, Wallington, NJ. A funeral will be celebrated on Saturday, 10 am at the St. Peter's & Paul's Russian Orthodox Cathedral, 201 4th St, Passaic, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Peter's & Paul's Cemetery, Saddle Brook.
