Mieczyslaw Baginski of Wallington, NJ died on June 12th, he was 80. Mieczyslaw was born to Jan and Teofilia Baginski on Nov 7th, 1934 in Poland. In 1943 he was moved to Germany. As a young man he played a major part in the operation of “Radio Free Europe.” Mieczyslaw came to the United States in 1956 and then married Olga Murga at St. Anthony’s in Jersey City. Mieczyslaw worked for Leslie Controls in Lyndhurst, Parsippany and then Tampa, FL. He retired from Leslie in Tampa in 1988 as their shipping manager. Soon after retiring he moved back to Wallington. Mieczyslaw was a member of The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Knights of Columbus Council 3644, and had been a member of the Aria Choir. Mieczyslaw is survived by his devoted wife Olga, his beloved sons, Witold T “Vic” and his wife Liz, and Stanley P and his wife Lucy Baginski. He is also survived by his dear sister Danuta Brezek and his cherished grandchildren Christopher, Victoria, Amanda, Lauren and Alana. He was predeceased by four brothers. Visiting Monday 2-4 & 6-8 pm, Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Ave, Wallington, NJ. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10am Tues at Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 127 Paterson Ave, Wallington, NJ 07057, followed by interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Saddle Brook.
