Melanie Sasiela

Melanie Marie “Melchie” Sasiela, aged 73, passed away on July 24, 2024 in Hackensack, New Jersey. Born on July 4, 1951, in Passaic, New Jersey. Melanie was a lifelong resident of the state and graduated from Wallington High School in 1969. Melanie worked for the past 20 years at the Slovak Catholic Sokol in Passaic.
She was preceded in her death by her parents, William John Sasiela and Antoinette Sasiela (nee Shubert); her brother, William Jerome Sasiela; and her sister Maryann Szott (nee Sasiela). Melanie is survived by her sister, Carol Sasiela; nephews William Jeffrey Sasiela and Joseph Szott; nieces Cindy Dorish (nee Szott) and Valerie Sasiela; great-nieces and nephews, Katie Collins, Macks Collins, Rebecca Sasiela, Jordan Sasiela, Stephen Glancy and Caitlyn Glancy as well as great, great-nieces and nephews Bentley Sasiela, Lillian Collins and Rengui Collins.
Melanie will be remembered for her love of her family, the New York Mets and her witty, spirited and fun-loving personality.
