Marie "Mary” Conway (nee Sorrentino), age 87, fell asleep in the Lord on 16 August 2011, after a period of illness. Born in Hoboken, NJ on 6 February 1924 to Edward and Josephine (Scibilia) Sorrentino, Marie Conway was a resident of Hoboken for most of her life. Having worked in the field of industrial line assembly earlier in her life, she became an outstanding homemaker and decorator. She was a devout Catholic and enjoyed singing in the choir. She was an avid walker, sharp dresser, and liked to relax in local coffee shops. She was predeceased by her husband, George; siblings, Pasquale and Theresa; son Andrew; and grandson, Brian; survivors include her sister Carmella Broderick (Hoboken, NJ); daughter "Matushka" Marie Bacik; son-in-law, Father Lawrence Bacik; grandson Alexander Bacik (Kalamazoo, MI); niece and godchild, Donna (Mario) Petruno (Manalapan, NJ), nephew, Gerard (Debbie) Broderick (Hoboken, NJ); daughter-in-law, Eve Wooten (New Providence, NJ); and great nephew and nieces. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, 26 August, 12 Noon at St. Francis of Assisi R.C.Church 301Jefferson Street, Hoboken, NJ 07030.
