It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, and uncle, Marcin Bednarz, who left us on April 29, 2024. Paramedic Marcin Bednarz #4636, a member of the Wallington FD, and former EMS member. He passed away surrounded by his family after a tragic event took his life too soon, having just begun his journey of his part of the American dream. He was 22 years old. Marcin's family came to America for a better life for their children, and he was the embodiment of that dream. He was a very humble and vibrant soul.
During high school, Marcin became an EMT, choosing education as a ladder to success and he quickly became an exceptional part of the team, he was a guy everyone wanted to work with. Realising his passion for caring for people, Marcin furthered his education, successfully graduating at the top of his class from Paramedic school at Bergen Community College. Marcin's selflessness and dedication to his craft, his patients, coworkers, family and friends were truly exceptional. He always had a smile on his face and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Marcin was an integral part of teams at Wallington FD, Englewood Health EMS and The Valley Hospital, contributing his skills and dedication to their departments. He started volunteering with Wallington Rescue Emergency Squad when he was only 16 years old. He began his journey into hospital-based EMS in March 2021 as an EMT with Englewood Health. In January of 2024 after Marcin received his paramedic certification, he was hired at The Valley Hospital as a Part-Time paramedic and promoted to Per-Diem Paramedic at Englewood Health. He wanted to pursue a further career as a firefighter. As an organ donor he will live on in the lives of others.
Marcin leaves behind more than just memories; he leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering support. He is leaving behind his loving parents, Kazimierz and Zofia Bednarz, his brother Milosz Bednarz, sister and brother-in-law Magdalena and Marcin Wojtylo, and nephews Jakub and Krystian Wojtylo, grandmother Helena Bednarz, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will serve as a guiding light, reminding us of the importance of selflessness and service to others.
"Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen."
