Louis Serafin of Wallington, New Jersey, entered eternal life, surrounded by his family, on Monday, October 14th, 2019, he was 85. Louis was born in Wallington on February 20th, 1934, to Joseph and Mary (Zak) Serafin. He proudly served his country during the Korean War in the US ARMY, and was a proud and faithful member of the VFW Pavlik Koster Post 2640, Wallington. Lou was married to his beloved wife Ruth Serafin, of nearly sixty years, on November 21, 1959 at the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Wallington. He had worked as a carpenter with his brother John, throughout the years. He had also worked at Uni-Royal in Passaic for over ten years, and retired from Great Bear Water in Teterboro, 27 years ago. Lou was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed spending his free time at his second home on Elk Lake in Waymart, PA. Louis is survived by his devoted wife Ruth, his three loving children, his daughter Patty Barnas, his son William "Bill" and his wife Claire Serafin, and his son Thomas "Tom" Serafin. He is survived by his beloved grandchildren, Kevin, Steven, Sean, Lyndsie, Joshua and Lake, a sister Sophie Schmidt and his sister in law, Evelyn and her husband Stan Allen, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Louis was predeceased by his grandson John Barnas and his son-in-law Greg Barnas, both in 2014. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Jean Puzio, John Serafin, Joe Serafin and a sister in law Dorothy Mitchell. Visiting 2 - 4 pm and 7 - 9 pm, Wednesday, October 16th, Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Ave. Wallington. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home, 11:30 am, Thursday, October 17th, followed by a private cremation.
