Lorraine Jean McKean, 89, passed away on January 26, 2025, in Alpharetta, GA, following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born on April 15, 1935 in East Paterson, N.J. she was the beloved daughter of Nicholas and Anna Barna Lawrick and sister to Nicholas Lawrick, Jr. Known fondly as “Ginger,” Lorraine spent her early childhood in the Catskill Mountains, N.Y. before moving to Elmwood Park, N.J., where she lived for 18 years. She married Hugh McKean of Shohola, PA, and the couple settled in Fairfield, N.J., where they raised their two sons. Lorraine lived there for 62 years before relocating to Georgia in May 2022 after Hugh’s passing. She began her career at Forstmann Mills and later managed her husband’s construction business. In her later years, she found success in real estate and provided accounting and customer service support in the office products industry until her retirement. A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Lorraine was a compassionate caregiver and a source of warmth to all who knew her. Her smile could light up any room, and her kind heart left an enduring impression on those around her. Lorraine is survived by her two sons, Hugh McKean Jr. of Shohola, PA, and Mark McKean (Elizabeth) of Alpharetta, GA. She was a cherished grandmother to Kyle McKean of Vancouver, WA, Sophia McKean of Boulder, CO, Jamie Jones (Brent McGill) of Dallas, TX, Taylor Rosellini (John) of Wilmette, IL, and Michael McKean (Alicia) of West Chester, PA. She was a proud great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren, Tatum, Emerson, Michael, Frankie, Brady and Casey.
