Joseph R. Lostaglio, of Wallington, formerly of Nutley, NJ; died on Jan. 5th, 2012; he was 84. He was born on April 20, 1927 in Manhattan, NY to Frank and Antoinette (Fratapietro) Lostaglio. Joseph proudly served in the US Army, during WWII. After his military service, he attended and graduated from the Pratt Institute, School of Art & Design. He began his career working in the garment industry of NYC, where he worked for many notable companies as a Pattern Maker, last working for Drizzle, NYC. On April 25th, 1954, Joseph married his true love of 57 years, Dorothy Malizia at Church of the Nativity in NYC. The couple moved to Bloomfield, NJ; and eventually to Nutley where they lived for many years. They came to Wallington in 2004. In Joseph’s younger years, he was a Master Fencer, fencing in competitions at West Point and many other prestigious venues. His family states that Joseph was highly intellectual and enjoyed learning new things every day. He enjoyed fixing antique clocks, and learning about ancient weapons and armor. Joseph is survived by his beloved wife Dorothy; his loving daughter Mary Filippone of Wallington, his loving son Gerard Lostaglio of Wallington and his four cherished grandchildren.
