John Zaunczkowski of Wallington, New Jersey entered eternal life on Wednesday, May 24th, 2017, he was 83. John was born in the Bronx, on July 17th, 1933, to Stanley and Anna (Kowczewski) Zaunczkowski. John entered the US Air Force where he proudly served for four years. John was married to Adela Langowski, on October 31st, 1959, at St. Hyacinth in Paterson. They have enjoyed over 57 years of marriage. John had worked for Curtis Wright as a Publishing Editor of Professional Manuals retiring in 1995. In 1974 John graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with his BA. After his retirement he started to tend to his vegetable garden, which he truly enjoyed and found relaxing. He had also sold real estate for JC Barnet Realty in Wallington. John was also very proud of his Polish heritage. He had served on the boards and as Past President for both the Bayway Polish Home in Elizabeth, and the Polish Home in Passaic. John was also a very active parishioner of The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Wallington, where he served as a Lector and a Eucharistic Minister for many years. John sang with the Chopin Singing Society for over 20 years. John is survived by his beloved Adela, his loving children and their spouses Christine and (Lee) Clawans, Carol Anne Zaunczkowski, Denise and (George) Gombas, John and (Monika) Zaunczkowski, Diane Zaunczkowski, Robert and (Carrie) Zaunczkowski. He is also survived by his cherished nine grandchildren, Allison Clawans, Veronica Walentowicz, Kristen, Elyse, Danielle, Alexa and Emma Gombas, Matthew and Michael Zaunczkowski. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 am, Saturday, May 27th, 2017, The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus 127 Paterson Avenue Wallington, New Jersey 07057.
