John of Wallington, NJ since 1938, died on Sept 4, 2012, he was 97. John was born in Passaic, NJ on August 9, 1915 to John and Mary Sedlacik. He was raised in Passaic, NJ and one of 14 children. John was a graduate of St. Mary’s School, Class of 1928, and Passaic High School, Class of 1932. John was employed by the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company (A&P), all his life, starting as a delivery boy after school in 1930 and retiring as a supermarket manager in 1975. John married Helen Smagula on Sept 24th, 1938 at St. Michael’s Cathedral in Passaic; they were married for 73 years, until Helen’s death on Nov 4th, 2011. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church in Passaic, a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Mary’s and its Treasurer for many years. John and Helen were members of the Wallington Senior Citizens Club, and a member of the A.A.R.P. John is survived by his beloved children John A. of Landing, NJ and Sharon L. Germann of Wallington. John is also survived by three sisters, Julie, Ann, Elizabeth and four brothers, Walter, Alfred, Joseph and Richard.
