John Francis Pandorf, entered eternal life on April 10th, 2017, he was 86. John was born on May 31st, 1930 in East Rutherford, to John and Stella (Pluhar) Pandorf. He proudly served in the US Army in Korea. On June 9th, 1956 he married Barbara (Watross). They would have been married 61 years this June. John was a member of Park Row Hose Company 3, 1961 -1996. He served as Vice President in 1969, President in 1970, Trustee 1965-68 and 1975-77, Captain 1967, 1978-79, 2nd Asst. Chief 1981, 1st Asst. Chief 1982 and Chief of Department in 1983. He served as a member of the 50th and 60th Anniversary Committees of Hose Co. 3, Truck Committee Hose Co. 3 1985, Grand Marshall of 75th and 85th Hose Co. 3 anniversaries. John was a member of the Emergency Squad 1965-1970 and Lieutenant of Squad 1968. John was a Life Member of Park Row Hose Co. 3; South Bergen Fire Chiefs Association, and the NJ State Firemen's Association. He was also a member of C.R.E.W. Mutual Aid Fire Chiefs Association, NJ State Fire Chiefs Association, Six County Firemen's Association of Pennsylvania and Golden Horns Ex Chiefs Club of W.F.D. John has remained active his entire life. John took great pride in enjoying the work each season would provide. He would enjoy cutting the grass, working his vegetable garden and raking the leaves in the fall. During the winter and more specifically during the snow storm in March of this year, John did what he has done for the last 60 years. Using his snow-blower he cleared the block of snow. John was also an asset to the Wallington High School Boys Soccer team. For many years he was an honorary team member. Wallington recreation honored John with a plaque, "A man who loves kids and football more than himself. 25 years of service." In the early 1950's John played semi-pro baseball as a catcher for the Clifton Dodgers. He also enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Belly Button Softball Club. John was an avid Giants, Rangers and Mets fan and was still riding his bicycle up to five miles a day. John is survived by his beloved wife Barbara, his loving children John and Joy, Kathleen and William Ratliff, Joni and Joseph Aragona; his devoted grandchildren Jacob, Alyssa, Andrew, Ryan, Kyle, Kristin, Joseph, Nicholas, Gina; his cherished great grandchildren Sergio, Sean, Silace, McKinley, Hope; and dear brother Kenneth. A funeral service will be held at the end of visitation, followed by a private cremation.
