John Kaczmarek of Passaic, New Jersey, entered eternal life on Saturday, January 6th, 2024, he was 95. John was born in Rogozno, Poland, on April 25th, 1928, to Antoni and Janina (Brendel) Kaczmarek. In 1948 at the age of 20; John sought asylum in the United States, from Russian controlled Poland. He worked as a cook on a trans-Atlantic passenger ship, that docked in the New York Harbor, to begin his new life. He settled in Passaic and in the 1950's founded the Polonia Bakery in Passaic with his wife Wanda, where they realized the American dream. John was a proud Polish-American, but he was not a boastful man and his generosity was known by many. John worked hard to provide for his family and in his mid-80's he retired from the bakery; allowing the next generation of Kaczmarek’s to continue what he had started, over sixty years earlier. He moved to New York with his life partner Dorota Halicka, where he enjoyed his retirement. John is the cherished father of Bogdan and his wife Jaimie, Andrew and his wife Karen, John and his wife Kasia, Thaddeus and his wife Elisabete Lopes, John is the cherished grandfather of Kaleigh Whitworth and her husband Michael, James Kaczmarek and his wife Abby, Emily Kaczmarek, Stacy Elman and her husband Ryan step granddaughter Agata. He is the beloved great-grandfather to Jack and Luke Whitworth, Jesse and Ellie Kaczmarek, and Harper Elman; he is also survived by his dear sister Wiesława Ulanska. John was predeceased by his cherished granddaughter Tiphane Kaczmarek and his brother Bogdan. John will be laid to rest in his beloved Poland, at the Cmentarz w Widawie, Świętego Rocha.
