James J. Riccio, Sr., of Spartanburg, South Carolina, entered into eternal life on Thursday, December 19th, 2019, he was 73. James was born in Passaic, NJ on July 15th, 1946, to Joseph and Josephine (Alaimo) Riccio. He was a graduate of Limestone College in Gaffney, South Carolina. James was married to Ann Marie (Rossmano), on June 24th, 1967 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Passaic, New Jersey. He worked for Carmet, a carbide tool cutting company in East Rutherford, and transferred to Spartanburg, South Carolina when the company moved operations in 1982. He retired from Carmet in 2007, and began working for Lowes. Sir Knight James, was a life member of Mary Queen of Peace, Knights of Columbus Council 9575 in Spartansburg, SC and a Fourth Degree life member of Assembly No. 1655. He enjoyed shooting at the range and riding his motorcycle. James is survived by his beloved wife Ann Marie of 52 years, his devoted children, James J. Riccio Jr. and his wife Lisa Avizzano-Riccio, Gabriel William Riccio and his wife Jeanine Riccio and Joseph A. Riccio and his wife Stephanie Riccio. He is also survived by his eight cherished grandchildren, Nicholas Riccio, Amanda Riccio, Nicholas Descoplia, Anthony Riccio, Anna Marie Riccio, Joseph Riccio, Christopher Riccio and Matthew Riccio. He is also survived by his dear brothers Joseph Rich and Philip Riccio. James was predeceased by his sister Patricia Salamoni. A memorial visitation will be held 2 - 5 pm, Saturday, December 28th, at Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Ave. Wallington, NJ. A memorial funeral Mass will be celebrated in Spartanburg, SC at a later date. James was privately cremated.
