Jack Bratten Davis Sr., died on July 1st, 2013; he was 66. Jack was born in Smyrna, Tennessee on August 4, 1946 to Ewin Lamar Davis and Dorothy James Bratten. On July 2nd, 1964 Jack entered the US Navy in Columbia, SC. He proudly served in Vietnam aboard the U.S.S. Brister (DER-327), before being honorably discharged at Pearl Harbor, HI in 1967. While in Hawaii, he met the love of his life Miss Arlene Marie Trawinski of Wallington, NJ. He followed his bride to be, home to NJ and lived in Wallington until his marriage on Nov 22, 1969 at Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Wallington. The Davis family then settled in Rutherford. Arlene died on April 22, 1998. After living in Rutherford for 33 years he moved to Clifton in 2002. Jack worked as a Union Painter, starting in 1968 for Local 1007, and retiring in 1996. For the past several years he has been the Treasurer for American Legion Post 109, Rutherford, NJ, where he has been a proud and distinguished member for over 40 years. He was also a diehard fan of Nascar and a huge fan of Jeff Gordon #24. Jack is survived by his loving children, Jack and wife Rebecca Davis, Jr., Keith and wife Jennifer Davis and Michael Davis and partner Danielle Graziano. He is also survived by his four cherished grandchildren; PFC James Connolly-Davis USMC, Alyssa, Abigail and Tyler Davis. Jack is also survived by a half-brother Louis Pcheny and predeceased by his sister Helen McDaniels. Although Jack has not lived in the South in over forty-five years, his family says that he was still a good ole boy, so y'all invited to visitation at Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Avenue, Wallington, NJ on Friday, July 5th, 2013 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home, 10AM Saturday July 6th, followed by interment at East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton, New Jersey, with Naval Honors.
