Irene Bednarz

Irene Theresa Bednarz, was reunited with her beloved husband of 49 years, Henry; on February 12th, 2012, she was 83. Irene was born in Wallington, NJ on April 12, 1928 to Walter and Anna (Gola) Gurdak. She married Henry Bednarz on April 22, 1951 at the Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, in Wallington. Irene was a member of the Wallington Chapter of the AARP; the East Rutherford Seniors, and she was the Secretary of the St. Mary’s Hospital Guild. Irene is survived by her loving daughters’ Marianne and husband Kevin Wolford of Wayne, NJ; Christine and husband Bob Barthelme, of Pt. Pleasant, NJ; and Jacqueline and husband Bob Bersch of Metuchen, NJ. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Krista, Melissa, Michael, Lisa and Madeline. Irene is survived by her brother John Gurdak, and sister Dorothy Miskuff. She was predeceased by 1 brother and 2 sisters. Visiting will be on Wednesday, Feb. 15th, 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Avenue, Wallington. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, Feb. 16th, at 10 AM. Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery, S. Hackensack. Irene’s family has requested contributions to the East Rutherford Seniors Center.
