Helen E. Persak (née Ulchinsky), of Wallington, entered eternal life, November 29, she was 100. Helen celebrated her 100th Birthday this past March in Tarrytown, NY, lovingly surrounded by three generations of family and friends.
Helen was born in Passaic on March 16, 1917 to Justin and Anna (Stock) Ulchinsky. She moved to Wallington after her marriage to Carl J. Persak in 1939; a former mayor of Wallington. Helen was a devoted and loving mother and wife who loved holidays and family get-togethers. Any time spent with family was most important to her. She was especially fond of her four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Helen was an avid knitter, quilter, and reader and never missed an opportunity to cheer on her New York Yankees. She was a member of the Wallington Golden Agers and former President of the St. Peter and Paul's Russian Orthodox Church Parent's Association. She was a dedicated and hard worker employed by the Bergen County Board of Elections until retirement at the age of 77. Helen is predeceased by her husband Carl J.; sons Steven R. and Michael D.; and daughter-in-law Francine Persak, wife of Carl Jr. She is survived by her son Carl Jr.; daughter-in-law Darlene Persak, wife of Steven R.; grandchildren Allison Forstmann and Carl Persak III, Steven Persak, and Adam Persak; and great grandchildren Justin, Sophia, and Julian Lee Forstmann and Jack and Lucinda Persak. Visiting will be Friday, December 8th, 4 - 7 PM at Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Ave., Wallington. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 AM, Saturday, December 9 at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 226 Harrison St, Passaic, where Helen had been a Parishioner. Helen will be laid to rest beside her husband at SS. Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Saddle Brook. www.WarnerAndWozniak.com
