Gert Gruenewald

Gert "Gary" Gruenewald, of Garfield, New Jersey died on November 13, 2013, he was 69. Born in Lichtenfeld, Germany on May 7, 1944. Gert came to the United States in the early 1960's. He married Annemarie Schutter on November 14th, 1963. Gert has lived in Garfield for the past 44 years and prior to that he had lived in Clifton. For 28 years, Gert worked for Hoffman-La Roche in Nutley, New Jersey. He then worked seven years at Bergen Industrial in Elmwood Park, retiring nearly ten years ago. Gert is survived by his beloved and loving wife of fifty years, Annemarie. He is also survived by his devoted and loving children and their spouses, Gary and Robin Gruenewald, Wendy Gruenewald-Striedl and husband Joe Striedl, Eric and Jennifer Gruenewald. He is the devoted grandfather of seven. Gert is also survived by his two sisters, Maria Donham and Marian Nowak. Visiting will be held on Saturday, November 16th, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service will take place at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
