Gerda Jackovitz

Gerda Jackovitz of Clifton NJ entered Eternal life July 6, 2024 She was 87. Gerda was borne Homberg Germany on June 21, 1937, to Karl and Maria Spies. After WWII Gerda emigrated to the United States settling in Nutley and worked as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Jernick.

In 1957 Gerda was introduced, by their respective sisters, to her future husband John. In 1960 Gerda and John were married in Holy Rosary RC Church. They settled in Clifton. In 1966 they were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Susan. They were married 60 beautiful years.

Gerda was a stay-at-home mother for ten years, in 1976, she returned to work in the dental/ medical field for 25 years, retiring in the early 2000s. Gerda loved to travel, shop and spend time with her family.

Gerda is survived by her beloved daughter, Susan and her husband Robert Barbier, her cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth and Rob, her brother Karl, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband John, sisters Rita Scherwa and Anne Bolembach.
