Ernest Swiger

Dr. Ernest Cullimore Swiger, Jr. of Stroudsburg, PA, and formerly of Washington, DC and Whippany, NJ, died on June 27th, 2015, he was 68. Ernest was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia on April 8th, 1947 to Ernest C. Sr. and Margaret (Weller) Swiger. He was raised in WV, then attended Duke University where he earned his undergraduate and PhD degrees. He also attended Wake Forest University, where he earned an MBA. On Dec 2nd, 1993 he married Sharon Majerscak in Wallington, NJ, and in 1998 the family moved to Stroudsburg, PA. In 1996, Ernest created his own company, Ernest Swiger Consulting Inc, working as an Economic Development Consultant, and has also been a member of the American Planning Association. In addition to golf and reading Ernest's greatest enjoyment was traveling with his family. Ernest is survived by his devoted wife Sharon, his beloved daughters Michelle and Lesley, his brother and wife, Philip and Devra Swiger, mother-in-law Dorothy and brother-in-law William. He is also survived by four nieces. Ernest was predeceased by his parents and his sister Margaret Swiger. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10AM, Wed, July 1st at The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 127 Paterson Ave, Wallington, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations towards the college education of his daughters Michelle and Lesley Swiger are appreciated.
