Elaine Buonomo of Wallington, formerly of Jersey City and Hasbrouck Heights, entered eternal life Saturday, February 22nd, she was 77. Elaine was born in Jersey City on July 23rd, 1942, to Vine and Catherine (Stapelton) Athens. At a very young age, Eliane's father Vine had died. Her mother then married Fred Abel, who took on the roll of Elaine's father, and she was always proud to say she had two great dads. For over 28 years she had worked for Bank of America in Ridgefield Park, retiring in 2007. Elaine was an avid reader and enjoyed playing games on her phone. She loved being a grandmother and spending time with her family. Elaine is survived by her three loving daughters, Mary McGowan of Michigan, Elizabeth and her husband Ken Mika of Wallington and Catherine Buonomo of Wallington. She is also survived by her six cherished grandchildren Ryan, Sean and Jesse McGowan; Julie, Christine and Jayme Mika; and her three great-grandchildren Cristina Hare, Diana McGowan and Luz McGowan. Elaine is also survived by her brother Kenneth Athens, and her niece Kathleen (Wiseman) Fineran and her husband Jacob Fineran and great-niece Maisie Fineran. Eliane was predeceased by her dear sister Alana Wiseman. She was also the grand-pet-ma of Hannah the dog, cats Clara Belle and Scootch, the bird Tweetie; and Diablo and Winter the fish. She was preceded by her three grand dogs. Visiting 3 - 6 pm, Wednesday, February 26th, Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Ave. Wallington, NJ.
