Edward J. Niemczyk, a lifelong Wallington resident, entered eternal life on Saturday, January 12th, 2019, he was 92. Edward was born in Wallington on June 2nd, 1926 to Joseph and Aniela (Rabisz) Niemczyk. He proudly enlisted in the United States Navy in October of 1943, and served in the Asiatic-Pacific theater during WWII, where he served aboard the USS Tranquillity which was a hospital ship and the USS Apollo which was a submarine tender. While on the USS Tranquillity he had been assigned to the USMC as a Medic. After returning from war, Edward married his beloved wife Josephine Turczyn on October 7th, 1950 at the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Wallington. For many years he owned an Arnold's Bakery Franchise, and was able to retire in 1981. When he was younger he had been an avid golfer and bowler. He had been a Past Commander of the VFW PAVLICK KOSTER POST NO 2640 in Wallington, a Past President of the Wallington AARP Chapter #4115, the Wallington Seniors and the Old Geezer's Club. Edward was predeceased by his beloved wife Josephine and his brothers Steve and Chester and his sister Irene Louis. He is survived by his devoted son Edward Niemczyk, Jr, his two granddaughters Ava Rose Niemczyk and Sophia Rose Niemczyk. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on 9:30 am, Saturday, January 26th at The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 127 Paterson Avenue, Wallington, NJ.
