Dorothy Catania, a life-long resident of Clifton, entered eternal life on March 27th, she was 82. Dorothy was born in Passaic, NJ to Salvatore and Sophie (Puzio) Alongi. She was raised in Clifton and was a graduate of the Clifton Junior High School Class of 1951. Dorothy was married to Salvatore Catania until his death in 1998. She was a home maker and a stay at home mom, until her children were grown. She then worked at Grainger in Clifton for over ten years. Dorothy enjoyed taking care of children. She was also a magnificent cook who took great pride in preparing meals for her family. When Sal was alive they were snowbirds, spending time in Millburn, FL, where they also enjoyed boating and fishing and fine dining. Dorothy is survived by her four dear children Salvatore R. Jr, and his wife Alice (Zagleski) Catania, Robert Catania, Louis Catania and Catherine Bosse. She is also survived by her beloved grandson Michael Bazdough and her brother Raymond and his wife Carole Alongi, and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by her cherished grandson Slavatore W. Catania in 2015, and her sister Anne Labaro. Visiting Monday, 2-4 & 7-9 pm, Warner-Wonziak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Ave, Wallington.
