Donald Tomassi

Donald Tomassi of Wallington, New Jersey, entered eternal life on Friday, August 19th, 2022, he was 68. Donald was born in Jersey City on May 11th, 1954, to Rocco and Antoinette (Speranza) Tomassi. He was a graduate of Hudson Catholic High School in Jersey City, Class of 1973. He was an active athlete, playing football, baseball, and track & field. After graduation, he attended Lincoln Technical Institute, where he graduated as a Certified Automotive Technician. In 1976, Donald married his beloved wife Mary Ellen (Conticchio), at the Church of Our Lady of Mercy in Jersey City. In 1978, the Tomassi family settled in Wallington, where they have lived for nearly forty-five years. Donald’s professional career included owning and operating two Exxon gas stations before working for his brother Vincent as a Master Automotive Technician at Midtown Auto Repair, in Bayonne, for over twenty years. Donald was very active in the Boy Scouts of America, Wallington Troop 13, for over twenty-five years where he was the troop Committee Chair. Donald enjoyed taking part in the various activities with his troop, especially camping at Camp Turrell. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary Ellen and his two loving children, son David and his wife Chrissy and his daughter Maria Tomassi. He is survived by his devoted brother Vincent Tomassi and his loving family. Donald was predeceased by his parents Rocco & Antoinette Tomassi. Donald will be laid to rest 11:15 am on Wednesday, August 24th, 2022, at Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington, NJ 07031.
