Donald Banchik

Donald, of Nanuet, NY on Nov 12, age 77. Born in The Bronx Jan 4, 1936 to Joseph and Hilda
(Edelman) Banchik he had 7 siblings. Donald attended college on a basketball scholarship and served in the ARMY. Donald has lived in Nanuet for 16 years, prior in Eldred, NY, where he had been Superintendent of Schools until his retirement. He also lived in Bennington, VT where he was Principal of Mt Anthony Union H.S., and had also been an Assistant Principal at Spring Valley H.S., Spring Valley NY. Donald's first wife Barbara (Young) predeceased him in 1997. He is survived by his wife Lorraine Brooks Banchik and his children, Steven and his husband Emmanuel along with Michael and his wife Ruthie, their children Barbara and Benjamin. He is also survived by his step children Maxine Brooks, her son Jason; Jeff Brooks, his wife Sue and their sons, Stan and Jimmy. Donald was known for his sense of humor as well as kindness and easy going attitude. Education was a perfect career, as he loved children of all ages and really cared. He was a supportive nurturing father, a loving and devoted husband as well as a very proud grandfather. He will be missed by all.
