David J. Wloch of Wallington, entered eternal life on April 13th, he was 72. David was born in Hudson, NY on Jan 20th, 1946 to Charles and Catherine (Roetina) Wloch. He graduated from Hudson High in 1964 and proudly joined the US Marine Corps, where he served for 15 years. David was a decorated Vietnam Veteran and retired as a Gunnery Sgt. In addition to serving in Vietnam, he had been stationed in Okinawa for a year and various bases throughout the US; completing his service in Southern California. On Sept 20th, 1969, David married his beloved wife of nearly 49 years, Gloria Zapolski. After his discharge from the Marines, he and Gloria started Hawk Eye Cleaning in Southern California; taking the name from his nick name in the Corps. In 1981 David and the family moved to Wallington. Upon returning to the east coast, David had worked at Farmland Dairy, then Warner Lambert, retiring from Pfizer Pharmaceuticals where he had been a computer operator. He also worked at the United Retail mail room for 5 years. David was a proud member of the VFW Pavlick Koster Post 2640 in Wallington. He is survived by his beloved wife Gloria, his two daughters and their husbands, Kimberly and Orlando Gonzalez, Cheryl and Anthony Rapetti. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Bethany, Dominic, Janelle and Evan; and his dear brother Daniel. David was predeceased by his brother Charles. Visiting, 2-4 & 7-9 Mon April 16th, Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Ave, Wallington. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 8:30 pm. A private cremation will follow on Tuesday.
