Christine Matano

Christine Matano of East Rutherford, on Dec 4th, she was 69. Christine was born in Cologne, Germany on July 9th, 1946 to Ignacy and Maria (Seneca) Smulski. As a toddler, she came to the US where she lived with her family in Jersey City, before moving to Wallington. In 1974 she moved to East Rutherford, and has lived there ever since. Christine was a graduate of Wallington High School, Class of 1964. She had worked at St. Mary’s Hospital as a medical staff secretary, and was also part of the East Rutherford Zoning and Planning Board staff. In addition to cooking, shopping and being an avid reader, Christine enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Christine is survived by her devoted mother Maria Smulski of East Rutherford, her beloved daughter Wendy and her husband Bryan Shortino and her son Joseph Matano III. She is also survived by her loving sister Debbie Smulski and her cherished grandchildren Samantha and Sydney Shortino. Memorial visitation will be held, 6-8 pm, Tues, Dec 8th, and a funeral service at 7:30 pm Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Ave, Wallington, NJ.
