Dr. Christine Marie German, OTD, OTR/L, ATP, of Dallas, PA, formerly of East Rutherford, NJ and Manalapan, NJ, entered eternal life on August 3rd, 2021, she was 42 Christine was born on January 12th, 1979 to Woodrow and Donna (Fichtl) Luhrs. She was a graduate of Manalapan High School Class of 1997 and earned her Bachelor of Health Sciences degree and her Master’s in Occupational Therapy in 2002, from Misericordia University. She married her devoted husband Richard William German, at St. Patrick’s in Mystic, CT on January 30th, 2010. Christine continued her studies at her alma mater in both the Pediatric Certificate and then her Doctorate of Occupational Therapy completing them in 2014. Christine had a special interest in assistive technology and was certified as an Assistive Technology Provider. Christine also had over fifteen years of experience in pediatrics, working in both private practice and school-based therapy programs. It was during this time she supervised Level I and Level II fieldwork for students and developed her passion for teaching. She had developed and implemented a community-based workshop program and has presented over 100 workshops for teachers, parents and school staff on a variety of topics related to the occupational development of children. Her interests, in addition to assistive technology, include community education, promotion of wellness, and prevention of dysfunction in well pediatric populations. Dr. Christine German and her husband Mr. German, moved to Dallas, PA, four years ago, so they could devote time to their fur babies Schroder and Oskar, as well as work on their dream home. Christine is survived by her loving husband Rich, her parents Woody and Donna Luhrs, her sisters Suzanne and Dawn, and her four nephews. She is also survived by her mother and father-in-law, Rick and Betty German. Visiting 4 – 7 pm, Wednesday, August 11th, 2021, Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Ave., Wallington, NJ 07057. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 8 pm, Wednesday evening, at the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 127 Paterson Avenue, Wallington. A one- hour visitation will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street Freehold, NJ 07728 on Thursday, August 12th, 12 noon - 1 pm. Christine will be laid to rest at the Old Tennent Cemetery, 454 Tennent Road, Manalapan Township, NJ 07726 at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, Christine’s family is requesting that contributions be made in her name to a Scholarship Trust that is being established in her name, honor, and memory at Misericordia University.
