Ann Cupta was a long time resident of Garfield, New Jersey, and passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, June 17, 2022 at the age of 93. Ann was born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania on September 7th, 1928, to Michael and Bertha (Gretzky) Tomcho. Ann was married to Walter Cupta. Ann was a devoted and selfless family matriarch, always there when you needed her without a moment's hesitation. She was both supportive and unconditional in her love for her family. She enjoyed cooking (especially halupki and pierogi), was a big fan of lobster, oysters, and Hot Grill, and enthusiastically ensured that everyone was always well fed. She loved her cat Callie, going to the beach, and was a masterful shopper. She was a good listener and was always there when you needed her. She was an active member of St. Michael’s Rosary Society, had strong faith, and often volunteered for church fundraising events. Ann was also a member of the Mother's Club at St. Michael The Archangel Byzantine Catholic Cathedral. She will always be remembered as a “mother” to everyone. Ann is survived by her loving children and their spouses, Sharon and Bruce Anzalone, Glenn and Terri Cupta, Eileen and Bill Ryan, and Maryann and Curt Hatfield, her cherished grandchildren and their spouses, Bruce and Joanna Anzalone, Mark and Marissa Cupta, Brett and Liz Cupta, Lauren Anzalone and Bryan Benson, Brittany and Bob Gray, Jacklyn and Kevin Daviau, Paige Gazelle and Sean Weidler, Christian Gazelle, and Liam Ryan, and her beloved great-grandchildren, Clare, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Caleb, Locke, Hadley, and Wyatt. She is also survived by her dear sister Irene Luka and her devoted sister in-law Gloria Tomcho. Ann was predeceased by her husband Walter Cupta, great-grandson Nicholas, her two sisters Mary and Laverne and her two brothers, Michael and John.
