Alexander Stanley Nieradka, aka “Smiley” born and raised in Wallington, passed peacefully at home on Aug 31st, he was 94. Alex was born on Feb 20th, 1922 to Joseph and Anna (Majdanska) Nieradka. A registered Pharmacist with a degree from Rutgers University, School of Pharmacy and the owner and operator of Steigner’s Pharmacy in Paterson. He proudly served in the US Navy 1944-1946, stationed in Guam and served as a Pharmacist. He was married to Gladys (Pawlowski) until her passing in 2011. Alex was a lifelong parishioner of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in Wallington, and a member of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Knights of Columbus, Council 3644 and a Fourth Degree Knight of the Santa Maria Assembly 663. He enjoyed telling jokes, watching sports, going to Atlantic City, growing vegetables and recycling scrap metal and aluminum cans. He was a real friend to the environment his whole live. He is survived by his beloved sons Paul and Thomas and his wife Susan, grandsons Gregory and Alex, sisters Mildred Brusic and Josephine Klonfas, he was predeceased by sisters Eva Nieradka, Stella Bolka, Julia Galka, and brothers Anthony, Joseph, Edward and Bertrum. Alex is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting Fri, Sept 2nd, 2-4 and 7-9 pm, Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Ave, Wallington. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 AM, Sat, Sept 3rd at The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 120 Paterson Ave, Wallington. Alexander will be laid to rest immediately following at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Lodi.
