Douglas Charles Duess of Fairfield, NJ entered eternal life May 29th, he was 67. Douglas was born in Passaic, NJ on Sept 14th, 1949 to Charles and Stella (Kuzanka) Duess. He proudly served four years in the US Air Force. Douglas married the former Eileen Sudol on Sept 1st, 1973 at Holy Name Church, Garfield, NJ. Douglas spent his professional career working as a banker. He last worked for Federal Home Loan Bank in Jersey City, retiring in 2015. In addition to being a member of the Benda-Roehrich VFW Post 2867, Garfield; Douglas enjoyed playing and teaching poker, blackjack and playing slots. He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years Eileen his loving daughter Karen and husband Clayton Arnott and his cherished grandchildren Nicole and Logan. He is also survived by his dear sister Christena and (Gil) Williams, brother Stephen and companion (Jan) Duess, and mother-in-law Viola Sudol. Visiting 4-8 pm, Thurs, June 1st, Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Ave, Wallington, NJ. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 am, Fri, June 2nd, at The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 127 Paterson Ave, Wallington. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Paterson, NJ.
