William "Bill" Orange of New Paltz surrounded by family and friends entered eternal life on Sat, Sept 24th, he was 70. William was born in Maryland on Oct 18th, 1945, to John and Mary (Frohling) Orange. Bill was raised in Bardonia and spent a lot of time with his grandfather William Frohling, who taught him his love of nature and how to fish hunt, and how to bake a mean apple pie. He was a graduate of Clarkstown HS Class of 1963. In the 1970's Bill worked at Charles R. Velzy Associates in Armonk, as a surveyor and draftsman. In the early 1980's he moved to Lord & Burnham in Irvington, NY where he excelled in greenhouse and solarium design and construction. In 1989 Bill established Underglass Mfg, where he was able to further hone his talents by creating beautiful conservatories, greenhouses, solariums and greenhouse restoration projects; most recently the FDR estate at Hyde Park. Bill lived for many years in Monroe where he enjoyed playing softball. He lived in New Paltz with his loving wife Susan Noto Orange. Bill was a man that you could always count on, generous and honest to a fault, a very hard worker, and would help anyone, any way he could. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Bill and Sue enjoyed hosting get togethers, holidays, and just a good ole barbecue. Bill was a devoted family man. His children and grandchildren brought him immeasurable joy. He loved to laugh, picking up his children, nieces, nephews and grandchildren high over his head so they could fly like planes. Bill is survived by his devoted wife Sue, his beloved mother Mary, his loving children Jennifer and Ken Meier, William Jr and Edna Orange, Caren and Michael Machado, and 9 cherished grandchildren. He is survived by his sister Mary and Mitch Warner, brother John and Elsa Orange, his dear Aunt Margaret Koleduk, father in law John Noto, sisters' in law Patricia (Charles) Mascari and Jean (Roy) Deary, and brother in law John Noto.
