Ellen K  Perkins (Smith)
Ellen K. (nee Smith) Perkins, a life long resident of Wallington, on March 13th, after a courageous three year battle with cancer, she was 68. Ellen was born on May 7th, 1947 to Edward and Alice (Neilley) Smith. She was a graduate of St. Mary's, Rutherford, Class of 1965. On Sept 20th, 1969, Ellen married Joseph G. Perkins at The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Ellen had most recently worked at Mountainside Hospital as a financial administrator, and prior to that had worked at St. Mary's and Passaic General Hospitals. Her family recalls Ellen as a honest, kind, yet firm woman, who was "Great" in everything she did. She was a friend to all who knew her and enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and co-workers. She also loved to spend time at the shore in Lavallette, NJ. Ellen is survived by her beloved husband Joseph G. Perkins, her three devoted children, Amy and Robert Brown, Joseph E Perkins and Alison and Danny Robayo. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Ashley Brown, Gabriel and Charlize Robayo, her brother Joseph and his wife Linda Smith, a brother in law Ted Stankiewicz and many cherished nieces and nephews. Ellen was predeceased by three siblings, Guy Smith, Sister Catherine Joseph "Alice" Smith, O.P. and Gail Stankiewicz. Visiting Tues 7-9pm and Wed 4-8pm Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Ave. Wallington. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 9:30 am, Thurs, March 17th, at The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, 127 Paterson Avenue Wallington. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson.
