Walter Fila of Garfield, on December 20th, 2015, he was 85. Walter was born in Sojkowa, Poland on January 16th, 1931, to Jozef and Aniela (Bielen) Fila. Walter married Bronislawa Rebisz in Jata, Poland on November 10th, 1957. He emigrated to the United States in 1986 and settled in Garfield. He had worked at Fantasia Sewing Company as a machine operator in Passaic, prior to his retirement. In addition to spending time with his family he enjoyed country music, playing the drums, the accordion and even spoons. Walter is survived by his beloved wife Bronislawa, his loving children Kazimierz Fila, Danuta Bekier and Joanna Wyrzykowski. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Walter was predeceased by 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Visiting Tuesday, December 22nd, 7-9 pm, Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Ave, Wallington, NJ. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 9:30am, Wednesday, St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 184 Ray St, Garfield. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Saddle Brook.
