Irene Babula of Wallington and formerly a long time resident of Haledon, died on June 9th, she was 91. Irene was born in Suffolk, England on July 15th, 1923. During WWII she married Walter Babula, and came to the US in 1947. Irene had lived in Haledon for over 30 years, where she had been a member of the Haledon Seniors. She had also lived in Jackson, NJ for 12 years, prior to coming to Wallington, two years ago. Irene had worked as a Nurse’s Aide for several nursing homes in the Wayne area, prior to her retirement. She has enjoyed knitting, word puzzles and was an avid crafter of handmade crafts. Irene is predeceased by her beloved husband Walter and daughter Mary Jane Wiese. She is survived by her devoted daughter Ann Ricca-Rich and her son in law Kurt Wiese. She is also survived by her dear grandchildren Dave Inwood and Michelle Sutton, and cherished great-grandchildren Matthew, Liana, Katelyn and Karley.
